The Old Ceremony Finds Their Tender Age at Hopscotch Fest
Durham’s own pop-noir kings, The Old Ceremony, brought it last weekend at the Indy Weekly’s inaugural Hopscotch Music Fest, and rtm was there to catch TOC’s Saturday afternoon set at Hargett Street’s outdoor stage. The boys have a new album out this week–Tender Age–which delivers in true Old Ceremonial, avant-garde, style: thick, rounded percussion, luminous guitar tone, and lyrics that taste like a glass of warm brandy and smell like a leather arm chair.
