“When the vikings came we choked them with their own helmet phones, our hearts pumping like dancefloors…”

Music is a war. We only have so much time to hear so much and we hear so much garbage.

This column isn’t going to slice off the best chunks of sound for you to pilfer for your ‘pod (but it will often do that). This is about thinking about music, how music gives us alternatives and lifestyles and brands to think by. How music is rewiring our brains. This isn’t music criticism, this is music survivalism.

About Travis Watt

Travis Watt has been writing since 1991 when his first piece, "Bat with Chicken Pox," ran in the Statesville Record and Landmark. It was the most read cartoon in that newspaper and did not go over well with the surprisingly large pro-bat community in that small southern town.
