Red Thought Media is an art and culture journal started in 2009 by a handful of over-caffeinated and under-fed artists who wanted to see all genres of art explored in new ways. After nine weeks of cold calling, three hundred mugs of coffee, sixteen bottles of wine, and one incident of public graffiti, Red Thought Media was born.

Here at rtm, we seek to connect artists and encourage creativity. We take a synesthetic approach to art, meaning that we look at one art form in terms of another–poetry as music, music as literature, or literature as dance, for example. We believe that by connecting people and encouraging cross-genre creativity, we can create a synergystic force to move our culture forward.

Currently, we focus our efforts on music, visual art, and the written word, but we believe that art is simply passion manifested in action, so we are open to all art forms and are always working towards expansion. Fashion, performance, design, and activism are just a few areas into which we are looking to step.
